The writing partnership of Edwin Isaac Radford, a Fleet Street journalist and editor, and his wife Mona Augusta Radford, formerly a musical-comedy actress produced a number of crime titles, perhaps most well known for their series detective Dr. Manson. This is a non-series title in which the logician Professor Marcus Stubbs and his fellow members of the Dilettantes’ Club gather fortnightly at a Soho restaurant to unravel impossible crimes – a locked-room shooting and a brace of impossible poisonings among them.
