Early edition. 8vo. Original cloth. Dust-jacket, priced 3/6.

The fourth Bulldog Drummond novel (1926); this is a later Hodder printing. Drummond’s enemy Carl Peterson obtains the secret of Robin Gaunt’s new chemical weapon and plans a series of spectacular crimes; the book ends in Peterson’s death. “Sapper” was H. C. McNeile (1888–1937), whose gentleman-adventurer Drummond, introduced in 1920, spawned many films and sequels by Gerard Fairlie.
