Royal Field Artillery ink stamp to front endpaper – this is significant, as after graduating from the OTC, Hodgson was commissioned as a Lieutenant in the British Army, and took up a role with the 171st Battery of the Royal Field Artillery (New Army Division). During the training with this division, Hodgson sustained a head injury, resulting in him being billeted out of the Army and sent home to convalesce in June 1916, the same year this work was published.
