A survey of Price's cases since Leaves from a Psychist's Case-Book (1933), including the 'Talking Mongoose,' Kuda Bux's fire-walking, and - heavily disguised - his first two visits to Borley Rectory in 1929 and 1931. The first edition's closing line on Borley, in which Price then doubted any supernatural cause, was quietly dropped from later printings to avoid offending the Foysters.

This novella is not generally ranked among her most "serious" works, rather one in the popular tradition of the Victorian era Christmas ghost stories, but it exemplifies her popular appeal and her use of moral supernaturalism. Uncommon.
